Purim is a joyous Jewish holiday that celebrates the story of Queen Esther and the salvation of the Jewish people. It is a time for celebration, wearing costumes, sharing food, and coming together as a community.
At TanenbaumCHAT, Purim is celebrated the way we do everything—in a BIG way! The energy and enthusiasm is palpable! The school held four diverse Megillat Esther readings: Community, Traditional, Egalitarian, and All-Girls, reflecting the variety of ways our school community practices Judaism. This inclusive approach allowed everyone to participate in the holiday’s central tradition and feel united as one community on this festive day.
The celebration continued with a vibrant Purim Carnival in the Hennick Family Atrium, where students and staff indulged in delicious hamantaschen and enjoyed games and activities. The ruach (spirit) was contagious, and it was clear that everyone was fully embracing the holiday.
