As I step into my new role as Director of Philanthropy, leading the Advancement team, I reflect on my journey, shaped by 30 years of working in the Toronto Jewish community, five of those being at TanenbaumCHAT. I’ve learned invaluable lessons from the organizations I’ve worked with and the remarkable people I’ve met along the way, including the late Frances Bigman z”l, Director of Advancement at TanenbaumCHAT for 18 years, whose wisdom and insights continue to guide me today.
This past year, I’ve drawn inspiration from the resilience of the Jewish people and the compassion of the TanenbaumCHAT students and staff. They have shown up in ways I never imagined were possible and have shown their strength and Jewish pride like never before. They have all reaffirmed the significance of my role and the vital need for the work we do and the community we cultivate.
This year, our Advancement Department aims to raise $2.7 million to support academic excellence and tuition accessibility. Your support is essential to ensuring that TanenbaumCHAT remains the premier community Jewish high school in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area, where both students and staff can thrive.
Together, we’re not just making a difference; we’re inspiring hope and securing a brighter future for our community and the Jewish people.
I am more grateful than ever to work at TanenbaumCHAT and to be part of such a warm, united, and thriving community.
