It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Chaim Klein z”l, a beloved Jewish = Studies teacher of 27 years at TanenbaumCHAT, on July 19, 2024, after a prolonged illness.

Chaim was a true Mensch in every aspect of his life and leadership. His gentle demeanour and respectful communication touched the hearts of all who knew him. He had an exceptional ability to listen with genuine warmth and a sincere desire to understand others, ensuring everyone felt valued and heard.

Teaching was Chaim’s true calling. His approach to education transcended traditional methods. He respected every person and every opinion, even those with which he disagreed. His ability to listen and teach through example was an invaluable lesson for all.

Even in times of ill health, his commitment to his students remained unwavering. His prophetic words, “If I stay at home without teaching, I won’t live long,” reflected his profound connection to his vocation. His students knew two things: he demanded critical thinking and authenticity, and he wholeheartedly wanted their success.

Chaim’s passing is an immense loss to his beloved wife Mindy, his children, grandchildren, and to the thousands of TanenbaumCHAT students and staff who had the privilege of knowing him.

We find solace in the tremendous legacy that Chaim leaves behind—one of education, integrity, and profound kindness that will continue to inspire and guide us.
