Five alumni from the Class of 2012 travelled together to Nicaragua to celebrate their 30th birthdays. The adventurers included Jonah Eisen ’12, Shane Morganstein ’12, Matan Arane ’12, Yarden Arane ’12, and Aaron Goldberg ’12. The group enjoyed hiking active volcanoes, kayaking, and surfing, all while reminiscing about their time at TanenbaumCHAT.

Mazal Tov to Joshua Kaplan ’13 on passing the California Bar and embarking on an exciting career as a music lawyer. Joshua currently works as an associate lawyer in the music law field in Beverly Hills, representing many well-known musicians. His brother, Benjamin Kaplan ’11, is a talented film editor who has worked on numerous documentaries alongside many high-profile Hollywood celebrities. He served as the finishing editor of October 8, a documentary that explores the aftermath of October 7. Recently, he edited Jaws @ 50, a documentary offering a deep dive into Steven Spielberg’s iconic film, 50 years later.

Sam Goldberg ’24 was featured in an interview with the Jerusalem Post, where he shared his experience making Aliyah during a time of war.

Congratulations to Hayley Kupinsky ’21 who was published in the Hamilton Jewish News, where she wrote about how “Jewish pride is the antidote to campus antisemitism.” 

Kol Hakavod to Wendy Litner ’98 on the premiere of her new television series My Dead Mom, a show on Crave Canada, which explores her unique grieving journey after losing her mom.

Kol Hakavod to Jesse Gorman ’15 who made Aliyah and is currently a student at Bar Ilan University, pursuing a Master’s in Hebrew Language.

Congratulations to Rachel Manson ’13 on the live recording of her comedy album, 3rd Most Improved, at Second City Toronto, with Howl and Roar Records.

Mazal Tov to Issy Wunder ’21 on an outstanding season with the Princeton Tigers in NCAA Division I Women’s Ice Hockey. Wunder earned numerous accolades, including Ivy League Player of the Year, ECAC Hockey Women’s Forward of the Year, and was a finalist for the prestigious Patty Kazmaier Award.

Keren Gorman ’20 recently graduated from American University in DC with a BA in musical theatre and is currently working on expanding her capstone project, Left Unsaid, which explores the experience of living with PTSD and other forms of trauma.


Alumni in Israel

David Rothbaum ’75 made Aliyah in 1985 and has built a distinguished career in telecommunications after earning a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Toronto and an MBA from Boston University through a joint program with Be’er Sheva University. He leads a team at Ericsson that designs communication systems for European railways, automating high-speed trains via mobile networks. Rothbaum credits his TanenbaumCHAT education for shaping his career and deep connection to Israeli society. He lives in Kochav Yair, volunteers with Nefesh b’Nefesh, and considers making Aliyah the best decision of his life, thanks to TanenbaumCHAT.

Ariella Daniels ’11 made Aliyah in 2023 and fully immersed herself in the country’s culture and language. A York University graduate with a BA in Psychology, she focused on Israel Advocacy, serving as president of the Israel Advocacy Club, Campus Advisor for Hasbara Fellowships, and Director of Community and Academic Affairs at the Israeli Consulate in Toronto. 

Currently, Daniels is interning at the office of Knesset Member Dan Illouz and advocates for the Indian Jewish community through the Indian Jewish Heritage Centre. Daniels credits her success to her TanenbaumCHAT experience, which provided a deep connection to Jewish life and culture— ultimately leading to her Aliyah journey.
