TanenbaumCHAT recently hosted its first-ever Community Shabbat Dinner, welcoming current TanenbaumCHAT families—including over 500 parents, grandparents, students, siblings, and friends—for a memorable evening of connection and celebration.

Held simultaneously at four different synagogues across the GTA, the evening fostered a powerful sense of unity. Educators from the school led the groups in song, shared reflections, and helped guide meaningful moments of prayer, enriching the experience with their own insights into the significance of Shabbat.

More than just a dinner, the evening was a shared celebration of Jewish tradition. Coming together as a community not only deepened the connection to tradition but also reinforced the sense of belonging among all attendees. The event offered families a meaningful pause from the week, a time to reflect, and a renewed appreciation for the values that bind us together.

Thank you to all the families, guests, staff, and volunteers for making the evening so memorable. It was a true celebration of tradition, belonging, and the strength of the TanenbaumCHAT community.

“Shabbat is an integral part of Jewish life, and it was a joy  to experience it with our extended TanenbaumCHAT community,  in all its diversity.” —Dr. Jonathan Levy, Head of School
